Deb's Friends Here are some pictures of special friends who span the two stages of Deb's life and continue to provide strength, advice and opportunities for fun. Most important of these is surely Deb's husband, Roy. Other photo galleries on this site:

Deb and Roy have been married for
almost 30 years and they've been through a lot,
including multiple moves, Deb's breast cancer journey,
and the loss of three parents and a son. This picture
was taken in July 2001, at the Faith at Work event
in Columbia, South Carolina. |

This is Deb with Marita Littauer.

service agency for Christian speakers and authors.
Deb has been connected with CLASS since 1994. She
joined the faculty for their conferences later that
year. |

Eva Marie Everson, Linda Evans Shepherd
and Deb. Eva Marie and Linda are the compilers of
"Silver and Gold: Stories of Special Friendships"
and other books. The three women met through CLASS.
Later, Linda founded the Advanced Writers and Speakers
Association (AWSA), a professional support group
made up of the top 10 percent of Christian Women
in both publishing and speaking and to which all
the women belong. Eva Marie was the first person
(besides Roy) to know about Deb's diagnosis and
she immediately activated several prayer chains
to pray for Deb. Linda brought Deb's breast cancer
challenge to the attention of the National Speakers
Association prayer chain. |

This is Deb with Bonnie Ross Parker.
Deb and Bonnie originally met online and quickly
became good friends. Even though at the time they
had not met in person, Bonnie took on the challenge
of the Avon Three Day Walk for Breast Cancer in
Atlanta and walked the sixty mile course in honor
of Deb and their mutual friend, Marcia Steele. Bonnie
is an example of the people, all over the country,
who took on breast cancer walks and supported Deb
in many ways. Among the blessings of her breast
cancer journey are all the friendships that grew
and developed during that time. |

This is Deb with Kathy Shaffer. Deb
describes Kathy as her BFF (best friend forever)
and her main source of local support through her

The story of how they became friends is in "Silver
